My absolute favorite fandom to write about, who are these awesome detectives? Let me give you a rundown with the help of my good friend, Wikipedia!
The Hardy Boys was created in 1927 by Edward L. Stratemeyer. The man hired many "ghostwriters" to write books using the plots he made as guidelines. There are 58 originals, sometimes called Bluespines, and then there are many branch-offs of the series. For more information, go to "The Books".
The Hardy Boys is a creation of the Stratemeyer Syndicate, the creators of dozens of successful book series such as the Rover Boys, the Bobbsey Twins and Tom Swift, and later, Nancy Drew. Edward Stratemeyer conceived of the Hardy Boys in 1926 with the creation of plot outlines that would become the first volumes of the series. Various ghostwriters were employed, under contract of secrecy, to pen the actual stories. The first author was Leslie McFarlane, whose writing defined the literary style of the series, as well as the personalities and nuances of its characters. McFarlane authored volumes 1-16 and 22-24, which are generally regarded as the best works of the series.
Substantial revisions to the first 38 titles began in 1959. Over the course of 15 years the series was revised to modernize outdated vernacular, reduce story length, age the characters and remove the racial stereotypes prolific in many of the early books (although the series was unusually inclusive for the era in having two non-WASP Hardy sidekicks who were portrayed as normal, fully assimilated teenagers -- Tony Prito and Phil Cohen). The result of this process varied from one book to another. In some cases only minor changes resulted, while in others the entire plot and storyline were thrown out, resulting in an entirely new book bearing no resemblance to the original.
In 1979, after 52 years and 58 titles (plus the didactic Hardy Boys' Detective Handbook), Grosset & Dunlap lost the rights to publish any new Hardy Boys tales in a protracted court battle with the Syndicate. They did retain the right to continue publishing these 58 titles (referred to by some Hardy Boys enthusiasts as the canon) and continue to do so to this day, despite several changes in ownership. In the meantime, Simon & Schuster continued the series in the Hardy Boys Digest series of paperback books. In 2005 the venerable Digest series was ended with volume 190 and a new series, The Hardy Boys: Undercover Brothers, was started. The Undercover Brothers series is supplemented by a series of graphic novels and, initially, a now-discontinued series of comic books. Also in 2005 Grosset & Dunlap gained permission to continue publishing more titles in hardcover, starting with Digest volumes 59 to 66.
The Hardy Boys also appeared in several spin-off series: The Casefiles (127 volumes), the Clues Brothers (17 volumes), with Tom Swift in the 2 volume Ultra-Thriller series and with Nancy Drew in the 36 volume Supermystery series & the 6 volume Be Your Own Detective series.
Hardy Boys books have been issued in over 25 languages, including Norwegian, Spanish, Swedish, Dutch, French, German, Sinhala, Japanese, Russian, Malay, and Afrikaans.
The Hardy Boys are brother amateur detectives. Frank Hardy is the elder of the two, and Joe Hardy is the younger. The stories are an unageing series as, despite their hundreds of adventures totaling far more than a year, they are always 17 and 18 years old, (originally, they were 15 and 16 years old, but this was changed in the later printings) and it is always, approximately, the present day.
The two boys live in the fictional city of Bayport (on Barmet Bay) with their father, Fenton Hardy, a private detective formerly with the New York Police Department, their mother Laura Hardy (erroneously called Mildred in The Flying Express), and their Aunt Gertrude, a character often used for comic relief. Frank's longtime platonic girlfriend is Callie Shaw, while Joe is often linked with Iola Morton, the sister of the duo's good friend Chet Morton, another comic relief character. Other friends who assist the brothers include Phil Cohen, Biff Hooper, Jerry Gilroy and Tony Prito. The Bayport Police Department is represented by Police Chief Ezra (at least in one book "Clint") Collig (in Flying Express he is called Chief Finch), and Patrolman Con Riley. 'Detective' Oscar Smuff is often seen in cases as he comically blunders trying to solve a mystery. In the older stories, the Hardy Boys' cases often are linked to the confidential cases their detective father is currently working on. He sometimes asks them for help, while at other times they stumble upon villians and incidents that are connected to his cases.
The Hardys have a motorboat named the Sleuth and a yellow convertible (In volumes 1-6, they use motorcycles, but this changes when Joe's is destroyed in "The Shore Road Mystery"). Mr. Hardy has an airplane, which is described in some books as being twin-engined, single-engined in others. Chet Morton has a jalopy called the Queen, which is at times described as being tomato red, other times being bright yellow. Biff Hooper has a jalopy, Tony Prito has a motorboat called the Napoli and drives his father's pick-up truck.
In 1987, a spin-off series, the Hardy Boy Casefiles, targeted at older readers, was introduced. Consisting of 127 volumes, these stories were much darker in tone and featured plots involving bioterrorism and other kinds of terrorism, espionage, government conspiracies, cults, militia groups, and organized crime. They also featured a level of violence unseen in previous Hardy Boys stories, a fact that became evident to readers in the opening pages of the first "Hardy Boys Casefile" novel as longtime supporting cast member Iola Morton was murdered by a bomb planted in the Hardys' car.
Meet Frank and Joe Hardy, brother detectives!
Frank Hardy is six foot one. He has brown hair and eyes, and although he is taller, he is leaner than his younger brother, and not as athletic. He is highly intelligent, and a computer whiz, able to hack into almost anything!
Joe Hardy, the younger brother (and my personal favorite), is six feet tall. With blonde hair, blue eyes, and muscular form, he is handsome, just like his brother, but he knows it and uses his charm to its full potential. He is very athletic, but intelligent as well. Impulsive and hot headed, he is the complete opposite of his brother, who is level headed and calm.
Laura Hardy: Frank and Joe's mother
Fenton Hardy: The boys father, a world famous PI
Gertrude Hardy: The boys' nagging aunt, Fenton's sister
Chet Morton: The boys' best friend
Iola Moron: Chet's sister, Joe's girlfriend until she is killed by a terrorist bomb in the first Casefile
Vanessa Bender: Joe's girlfriend after Iola dies
Callie Shaw: Frank's girlfriend
The Gray Man: Important government agent, works for the Network
Other friends: Biff Hooper, Tony Prito, Phil Cohen, Jerry Gilroy

Harry Potter is a series of seven fantasy novels written by British author J. K. Rowling. The books chronicle the adventures of the adolescent wizard Harry Potter, together with Ron Weasley and Hermione Granger, his friends from the Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. The central story arc concerns Harry's struggle against the evil wizard Lord Voldemort, who killed Harry's parents in his quest to conquer the wizarding world and subjugate non-magical (Muggle) people to his rule. Several successful derivative films, video games and other themed merchandise have been based upon the series.
Since the 1997 release of the first novel Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone, which was retitled Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone in the United States, the books have gained immense popularity, critical acclaim and commercial success worldwide.[1] As of June 2008, the book series has sold more than 400 million copies and has been translated into 67 languages,[2][3] and the last four books have consecutively set records as the fastest-selling books in history.
English-language versions of the books are published by Bloomsbury in the United Kingdom, Scholastic Press in the United States, Allen & Unwin in Australia, and Raincoast Books in Canada. Thus far, the first five books have been made into a series of motion pictures by Warner Bros. The sixth, Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince, is scheduled for release on 15 July 2009.[4] The series also originated much tie-in merchandise, making the Harry Potter brand worth £7 billion (US$15 billion).

Jake Long is a descendant of a long line of dragons, and it is his duty to protect the community of magical creatures secretly living among the masses in the country of America (hence the name) although most of his missions lie in New York. He lives with his parents, Jonathan and Susan, and his seven-year-old sister, Haley. His grandfather and sister are also dragons, the dragon powers having skipped his mother's generation. His father is unaware of his family being dragons.
Throughout the series Jake is taught how to use his innate magical powers by his grandfather and a 600-year-old talking, anthropomorphic Shar Pei named Fu Dog. Jake needs these powers to protect the other magical creatures of the city from various malevolent beings, most notably the villainous Huntsclan led by the Huntsman. Because he is the first American Dragon he is the protector of the magical world that lives in the United States. His best friends are Trixie Carter and Arthur P. Spudinski, with whom he skateboards. They are also aware of his secret. He is infatuated with Rose, another schoolmate who once was a member of the Huntsclan. The stories are driven by Jake's search for balance between his life as a schoolboy and his secret life as a powerful magical guardian.

Drake Parker (Drake Bell) and Josh Nichols (Josh Peck) are two teenagers who become stepbrothers when Drake's mother, Audrey Parker (Nancy Sullivan), and Josh's father, Walter Nichols (Jonathan Goldstein), get married. Drake is described as an easygoing, simple, lucky, lazy, popular, stupid, and attractive teenage boy who easily gets girls while Josh is a smart, dorky and unpopular teenager, who in earlier seasons hates Mindy Crenshaw, but ends up dating her in later seasons. They are often tortured by Drake's and Josh's evil little sister, Megan Parker (Miranda Cosgrove), who often plays pranks on them for which she never gets punished. She only get Drake and Josh in trouble. Walter, Josh's father, is an outdated meteorologist, who can be described as unlucky and clumsy, like Josh, and Audrey, Drake and Megan's mom, is stricter than Walter. The parents are the only people in the family unaware of the torture they go through with Megan, as Walter begins to realize Megan is truly evil in seasons 3 and 4. Throughout the series, Drake and Josh go through many conflicts, misadventures, and misfortunes. The conflicts are mainly social. Others themes include school, work, and Megan, their devious "evil" sister. Josh has a job at the local "Premiere" movie theater, which he enjoys. Drake is musically enthusiastic and gifted, playing the electric guitar in his own band and is the lead singer. For the first two seasons, Drake played a red Pacifica Vox; in the rest of them, he plays a wine red Les Paul Classic.

The Suite Life of Zack & Cody is an American sitcom created by Danny Kallis and Jim Geoghan. The series premiered on Disney Channel on March 18, 2005 with 4 million viewers, making it the most successful premiere for Disney in 2005. It was one of the first five shows available on the iTunes Store. The series was nominated for Emmy Awards three times and was nominated for Nickelodeon Kids Choice Awards three times. The final episode aired on September 1, 2008 during the "The Suite Life and Times of London Tipton" marathon.
The series is set in the Tipton Hotel in Boston and centers on Zack and Cody Martin (Dylan & Cole Sprouse), trouble-making twins who live at the Tipton Hotel.[2] The series other main characters include ditsy hotel heiress London Tipton (Brenda Song), the candy counter girl Maddie (Ashley Tisdale), the hotel's manager, Mr. Moseby (Phill Lewis), and the boys' single mother Carey (Kim Rhodes).[2] The series is the third Disney Channel Original to have more than 65 episodes, after That's So Raven and Kim Possible.[3] Reruns air on both the Disney Channel and Disney XD. It was also picked up by WGN America and TBS Superstation.
The Suite Life on Deck is a sequel/spin-off of this series set on a cruise ship with Zack, Cody, and London attending a semester-at-sea program, while Mr. Moseby manages the ship.[4] While an attempted spin-off, Arwin!, was not picked up by Disney Channel, The Suite Life on Deck skipped the pilot process and went straight to series.

The show centers upon Zack and Cody Martin, twin brothers who live in the Tipton Hotel where their mother, Carey, sings and performs in the hotel lounge.[2] Also residing at the hotel is the hotel owner's daughter, London Tipton, who is impolite and ditzy. Maddie, whose real name is Madeline Fitzpatrick, is the hotel's down-to-earth candy-counter girl.[5] Mr. Moseby, the strict, dutiful and serious manager is often a foil to Zack and Cody's schemes.[5] The show is often set at the Tipton Hotel, but various other settings like Zack and Cody's school, Cheevers High School,[6] and Maddie and London's private school, Our Lady of Perpetual Sorrow Catholic School[7] are used.
Most episodes focus on two stories: The first one is commonly centered on Zack, Cody, and their mother Carey, while the other story centers on Maddie and London. Other staff of the Tipton sometimes appear in both of the stories. All of the stories involve both Zack and Cody.

The narrative of the movie is framed by a scene featuring a boy sick in bed (Fred Savage) and his grandfather (Peter Falk). The plot of the movie is the enactment of the story as it is being read, which is interrupted by comments from the grandson and grandfather.
A beautiful young woman named Buttercup (Robin Wright) lives on a farm in the fictional country of Florin. She delights in ordering the farm hand Westley (Cary Elwes) to perform chores for her. Westley's only answer is "As you wish". Eventually Buttercup realizes he really means "I love you." Westley soon leaves to seek his fortune so that they can marry; but Buttercup later receives word that his ship was attacked by the Dread Pirate Roberts, who is notorious for leaving no victim alive. Five years later, believing Westley to be dead, Buttercup is reluctantly engaged to Prince Humperdinck (Chris Sarandon), heir to the throne of Florin.
Before the wedding, Buttercup is kidnapped by a trio of outlaws: the Sicilian criminal genius Vizzini (Wallace Shawn), the Spanish fencing master Inigo Montoya (Mandy Patinkin), and the gigantic Turkish wrestler Fezzik (André the Giant). They are pursued by two parties: one consists of Prince Humperdinck and a number of soldiers; the other, a single masked man in black. The "man in black" outpaces the royal rescue party and almost catches the outlaws at the Cliffs of Insanity. Inigo, who is seeking revenge on a six-fingered man who killed his father, is left at the top of the cliff to duel the man in black. In a masterful bout that ranges a large area, Inigo fights well (and fairly) but is finally defeated and knocked unconscious. Later the man in black wrestles Fezzik and chokes the giant until he blacks out. The man in black then catches up with Vizzini, who is holding Buttercup hostage, and proposes a battle of wits. Vizzini is tricked into drinking poison, and subsequently dies.
Having captured Buttercup, the man in black reveals that he is the Dread Pirate Roberts, Westley's murderer. Enraged, Buttercup shoves him into a gorge, yelling "You can die too, for all I care!" only to hear him reply "As you wish!". Realizing that he is Westley, she dives into the gorge after him; when they reach the bottom, bruised, but alive, Westley tells her that the Dread Pirate Roberts attacked his ship, but made Westley his apprentice after hearing of the depths of his love for Buttercup. Eventually, Roberts secretly passed Westley his name and captaincy. The couple travel through the dreaded Fire Swamp to evade Humperdinck's rescue party, but end up being attacked by a Rodent of Unusual Size, which Westley manages to defeat. Upon exiting, they are captured by Humperdinck and his menacing six-fingered vizier Count Tyrone Rugen (Christopher Guest). Buttercup agrees to return with Humperdinck in exchange for Westley's release, but instead he is brought to Rugen's torture chambers, where he is 'prepared' by The Albino (Mel Smith).
Buttercup expresses unhappiness regarding her marriage, and Humperdinck claims he will send ships to locate Westley, but if they fail, Buttercup will marry him. Humperdinck reveals that although he arranged Buttercup's kidnapping to start a war with the country of Guilder, it will be better propaganda if she dies on her wedding night.
On the day of the wedding, Inigo learns about Rugen from Fezzik and decides to kill Rugen, so they seek out the man in black, hoping that his wits will help them overcome the guards. Buttercup learns that Humperdinck never sent the ships, and taunts him with her enduring love for Westley. Enraged, he tortures Westley to death. Inigo and Fezzik later find Westley's body and bring it to the magician Miracle Max (Billy Crystal) and his wife (Carol Kane), who claim Wesley is only "mostly dead". They revive Westley, initially to a state of heavy paralysis, in order to satisfy a grudge against Humperdinck. Westley, Inigo, and Fezzik invade the castle, and Humperdinck orders the wedding ceremony cut short. Inigo pursues Rugen through the castle and, though Rugen slices Inigo almost to defeat, Inigo's sense of revenge rekindles his energy and Inigo kills Rugen. Westley reaches Buttercup, who has decided to commit suicide, and assures her that her marriage is a sham because she never said "I do". Still partly paralyzed, Westley bluffs his way out of a sword fight with Humperdinck, whom Buttercup then ties to a chair. As the party rides off on four white horses conveniently discovered by Fezzik, Westley offers the role of Dread Pirate Roberts to Inigo who, finding himself suddenly out of the revenge business, needs a new purpose in life.
Upon finishing the story, the grandfather gets up to leave. The grandson—having grown more interested throughout—asks his grandfather to read it to him again the following day. The grandfather replies, "As you wish".

The Princess Bride is a 1973 novel written by William Goldman. It was originally published in the United States by Harcourt Brace Jovanovich.
The book combines elements of comedy, adventure, romance and fairy tale. It is presented as if it were an abridgment of a work by S. Morgenstern, and Goldman's 'commentary' asides are constant throughout.
It was made into a film of the same name in 1987 by Rob Reiner, and an attempt to adapt it into a musical was made by Adam Guettel.

In a Renaissance-era fairy-tale world, a beautiful woman named Buttercup lives on a farm in the fictional country of Florin. She delights in verbally abusing the farm hand Westley by demanding that he perform chores for her. Westley's only answer is "As you wish", which represents his great affection for her. After Buttercup realizes the true meaning of the words, as well as the fact that she returns his love, Westley leaves to seek his fortune so they can marry. Buttercup later receives word that his ship was attacked at sea by the Dread Pirate Roberts, who is notorious for killing all those whose vessels he boards. Believing Westley to be dead, Buttercup is forcefully engaged to marry Prince Humperdinck, the heir to the throne of Florin.
Before the wedding, Buttercup is kidnapped by a trio of outlaws: the Sicilian criminal genius Vizzini, the Spanish fencing master Inigo Montoya, and the enormous and mighty Turkish wrestler Fezzik. A masked man in black follows them across the sea and up the Cliffs of Insanity, whereupon Vizzini orders Inigo to stop him. Inigo arranges a fair fight, allowing his opponent to rest before the duel, during which Inigo reveals that he is seeking revenge on a six-fingered man who killed his father. The man in black wins their duel, but leaves the Spaniard alive. Vizzini, stunned, orders Fezzik to kill him. Fezzik, moved by his conscience, throws a rock as a warning, and challenges the man to a wrestling match. The man then chokes Fezzik until the giant blacks out, and then catches up with Vizzini, and proposes a battle of wits. Vizzini is tricked into drinking poison and dies.
With Prince Humperdinck's rescue party in hot pursuit, the man flees with Buttercup, and reveals that he is the Dread Pirate Roberts, Westley's murderer. Enraged, she shoves him into a gorge, yelling "You can die, too, for all I care!" only to hear him call, "As you wish!" while he is falling. She realizes at this point that he is Westley, who tells her that the Dread Pirate Roberts did attack his ship, but kept Westley alive after Westley explained the depths of his love for Buttercup. Westley became the Dread Pirate Robert's apprentice, learning to sail, fence, and fight. Eventually, Roberts secretly passed his name, captaincy, and ship to Westley. Westley and Buttercup travel through the feared Fire Swamp to evade Humperdinck's party, but upon exiting, they are captured by Humperdinck and his menacing six-fingered assistant, Count Tyrone Rugen. Buttercup negotiates for Westley's release and returns with Humperdinck to the palace to await their wedding. Rugen, who has no intention of releasing Westley, instead takes him to the underground hunting arena called the 'Zoo of Death', where he is tortured so as to provide information by which to complete the Count's book on pain.
Meanwhile, Buttercup has several nightmares regarding her marriage to the prince. She expresses her unhappiness to Humperdinck, who proposes a deal wherein he will send out four ships to locate Westley, but if they fail to find him, Buttercup will marry him. Humperdinck reveals to his accomplices that, although he arranged Buttercup's kidnapping in order to start a war with the neighboring country of Guilder, it will be better propaganda if she dies on her wedding night.
On the day of the wedding, Inigo meets with Fezzik, who tells him that Count Rugen is the killer of Inigo's father. They seek out the man in black, hoping that his wits will help them overcome the guards. Buttercup learns that Humperdinck never sent any ships, and taunts him with her enduring love for Westley. Enraged, Humperdinck tortures Westley to death. Westley's screams draw Inigo and Fezzik to the scene; upon finding Westley's body, they enlist the help of the King of Florin's former "miracle man", a magician named Miracle Max. Max pronounces Westley to be merely "mostly dead" and resurrects him, although Westley remains partially paralyzed.
Westley devises a successful plan to invade the castle during the wedding; the resulting commotion prompts Humperdinck to cut the wedding short. Buttercup decides to commit suicide when she reaches the honeymoon suite. Inigo pursues Rugen through the castle and kills him in a sword fight, reciting throughout the duel his long-rehearsed oath of vengeance. Westley reaches Buttercup before she commits suicide and assures her that she is not yet married as the ceremony has not been completed. Still partly paralyzed, he bluffs his way out of a sword fight with Humperdinck. Instead of killing his rival, Westley decides to leave him alone with his cowardice. The party rides off into the sunset on white horses conveniently discovered by Fezzik. They are pursued by Humperdinck's men, and their fate remains unknown.

Kim Possible is an Emmy Award-winning American animated television series about a teenage crime fighter who has the task of dealing with worldwide, family, and school issues every day. The show is action-oriented, but also has a light-hearted atmosphere and often lampoons the conventions and clichés of the secret-agent and action genres.
Contents[hide] |
The series revolves around the life of Kimberly Ann Possible, a junior adventurer who deals with both super-villains trying to take over the world and her own school life without actually living a double life. Her lifetime friend Ron Stoppable and Ron's pet naked mole rat, Rufus, act as sidekicks. They are backed up by Wade, a ten-year-old genius who gives Kim her equipment and missions and never seems to leave his room, though he does on a few occasions in the last season.
The characters live in the average town of Middleton, and while the series revolves mostly around Kim’s fight against her enemies, she usually also has to deal with problems in her own daily life as a cheerleading teenager, normally as a subplot in many episodes.[1]
